The Third bridge in this series, also the Third longest bridge in the world, and the second longest bridge over water. The briidge is located in Louisiana, USA, with a length of 23 Miles it comes in right behind Lake Pontchatrain Causeway at (22.80 mi) and Bang Na Expressway (33.51 mi). we do not have much info about this bridge and I don’t know how much steel was used in it’s construction but if we get this information I will post it here, feel free to comment if you have these numbers.
UPDATE: MANCHAC SWAMP BRIDGE is the second longest bridge in Louisiana but it is no longer the third longest bridge in the world as of today in Nov. 2019 it is now the 10th longest bridge in the world. the bridge is a little over one third of the highway's over lenght of 66miles. The piles used in this bridge were driven 250 feet beneath the swamp 76 meters and was opened in 1979. The bridge type is Trestle bridge and pile bridge.
This 120,374.02-foot concrete overpass only receives around 2,250 drivers a day. To this day this bridge is still an engineering feat that was built over alligator-infested waters that are rumored to be haunted, despite the legends it is a very safe bridge to drive over, but that doesn't stop superstitious tourist from visiting the bridge and lake every year.
